I knew I wasn’t using the Random Button often enough. Didn’t know that this was a long running problem.
The random button, I mean. I just realized that sounds like he’s trying to usurp your position as Lord Stumbles of ToeStub.

It works for me. I’ve pressed it several times and gotten a different one each time. Not once have I seen the “Even Steven” strip pop up.
Yeah, the known problem is that, if you click it per day (or per incognito session), it gives you the same comic every time you click it that day. Guess he happened to get Even Steven for today’s problem.

I much prefer the classic/antique solution to tootsie defence though not the hipster version.
The second panel made me laugh out loud.

If you stub your toe so hard that you break your toe. Does that count as a positive or negative effect on your score?
A simple break does nothing for your score. What judges are looking for is obvious bruising, swelling, and the toenail falling off.
