Haha, the reaction of the female bug in the last panel seems like a bottled up reaction over the entire web comic 😀

I think her expression might be a mixture of disdain and eye rubbing.

Thanks for the PSA! I’m so glad these facts don’t apply to rubbing other parts of the anatomy. I hope…

I ran across an interesting suggestion that pirates covered one eye to preserve their night vision. Kind of an odd notion, but I’ll have to try it sometime. My own solution has been to carry a red LED flashlight.

      Red LED flashlight. Great idea.
Why did the fighter jets I worked on in the marines have red illumination on the instruments? Better night vision.
Why do I object to blue headlights? Destroys the night vision of the driver of the oncoming car.

Fun fact, according to Click ‘n’ Clack on NPR: pirates (and other mariners) lost their eyes using astrolabes (?-I think) to sight the angle of the sun on the horizon. It helped them navigate.

I rubbed my eyes too hard before reading the comic, so can’t actually see it, but judging by the laughter around me…I’m gonna say “good job!” Adam!
P.S. How does one go about getting them suckers out of our sinuses? All that rolling around is very uncomfortable.

I figure you could try pinching your nose and blow real hard, though that might just blow them out your ears.

I figure a good sneeze could get them out. Then just rinse them off and pop them back in.

At least if you blow your eyes out of your ears, they’re not rolling around in your sinuses. And who needs eardrums, anyway?

When I was a kid, I’d entertain myself during boring school assemblies by pressing on my (closed) eyes, observing the interesting patterns that resulted. Probably not a good idea…

Those of us who wear contacts have to refrain from indulging in ocular massages. But when I take them out, then I can get a nice rub in. 🙂

The real problem is when you do a slight retinal detach. It doesn’t go back.
