Or if you got wandering leg syndrome…

Walking in circles for no reason is annoying.

amusingly, the segway was merely a tech demo of a system meant (by its creator) to be used for making better wheelchairs. they would have two 18 inch wheels, able to climb stairs, "stand" at 3 feet (balance wheel on wheel) and move very repidly…

the end result was a 35,000$ wheelchair (if mass produced)…

wheelchairs are subsidized by the US government and the government wouldn't approve such a ridiculous high price tag, so the project was scrapped.

aaaand, it was invented in New Hampshire. We are proud of our schadenfreude-inducing technologies. Woot!

“The Germans aren’t happy with a word unless it rivals an English sentence in length.” –unknown

Seriously, though, Fahrvergnügen, the one word that every American associates with German, translates to “the joy of driving.” Germans use one word for four, and the French use three words for one: “pomme de terre” translates literally to “apple of the earth” and idiomatically to “potato.”
