Hehe, they have those replicators make new ones every morning!

I think that may be canon. At least, the replicators clean them. During DS9 there are frequent references to Jake not being able to do something as simple as put his clothes in the replicator.

Even more disturbing, there don’t seem to be any toilets on that ship.

The replicators DO need source material, y’know.

Then you only need at least 2 sets of clothes, the clean one you are wearing, and the dirty one which you toss into the replicators as source materials.

OR, they can beam the person and clothes up while leaving the dirt below.

OR, they have supersonic/laser beam cleaners throughout the ship to do the cleaning when they are walking around, this can be done for most of the showering as well.

Actually, there are. I seem to recall at one point nearly every bathroom was out of service, creating a huge line. I don’t recall which series this was, however.
There was also the explanation for how Khan knew Sisko (I think) when they had never been together before. The joke/idea was Sisko held up the bathroom when Khan really needed in.

That was not Sisko, that was Chekov … The original Khan appearance was before Walter Koenig had joined the regular cast of ST:TOS, but in the WoK movie, Khan “recognised” Chekov.

And yes, I think it makes us both sad and irredeemably geeky to know this 🙂

Not to be “that” nerd but… There was an episode of DS9 where Jake and Nog were rooming together, I believe after Nog came back from Starfleet, and Nog complained Jake didn’t do any of his laundry.

Specifically, Nog (and at other times, Ben) complain that Jake can’t be bothered to put his dirty clothes in the replicator.

So…yes, there’s laundry, but it’s auto-done one way or the other.

There is just so much to love about this strip…I can’t even begin. So I won’t. It’s just too much. LOVE IT!

Laundry – pshhht – never mind that. Nobody on any ST ever had to:
    Wash up in the morning
    Brush teeth
    Pee or poop
Adjust their coif after a fight or a bad transporter incident.
I guess people in the future must have nanobots taking care of all their bodily functions and personal hygiene.

      Oh really?
I seem to remember, from the original series mind you, the good captain pulling on his boots and the yeoman leaving while straightening her hair or uniform as the case may be.
Also a lot of characters got messy or messed up on a regular basis.
Mind you nothing along the lines of beating up the Klingon every episode but you know what I mean.

Nah, they just sleep in their uniforms and purifying rays are in all the quarters that suck out sweat, dirt, and lithium crystal spillage out of both the bods and the clothes so they never even have to change (or shower).

They’re like jeans. They last a really long time between washes.
