    Nerd Bug… without glasses?

Actually, no. That’s a completely different bug. Why would Nerd Bug ever stare down a barrel himself? He’d sign those waivers and get some other sucker to do it for him.

I don’t think I’ve seen Nerd Bug in a situation that is possibly detrimental to his own health. He’s usually one-upping Bug.

Or maybe I just more fondly remember Nerd Bug’s triumphs because I too wear glasses.

Anywho, I love the last panel! I needed a good laugh to get through an all-nighter.

2nd Panel reminds me of how most of our politicians’ minds work these days.

Great. There goes any desire of getting Lasik surgery. Not that I have the money for it, mind you, but the desire is gone!

“Well there’s the problem! Your eyes are like two tiny pin-holes in your head. We can fix that for you, though! I’ll just increase the power on the laser a little bit….”

The Goldfinger comment is soo Italian in flavor I had to laugh, of course the preceding panels had me primped to do so anyway.

I was once a test candidate (i.e. guinea pig) for radial keratotomy(the precursor to lasik surgery, but done with fine surgical scalpels) at the university I now work at. The release form warned of all sorts of complications with no guarantees. They would only do one eye at a time in case something went horribly wrong. The main reason I opted not to go ahead was that I would no longer be able to wear contact lenses so if the correction was not 20/20, I’d need glasses anyway. I have long since been unable to wear contacts anyway, even soft ones as my eyes are too dry to be comfortable.

An interesting aside (at least to me), is that the procedure was discovered after WWII Russian tank crews, wounded in the eyes by broken glass debris, healed with better vision than they had prior to the injuries.

Pretty cool how Russian doktor bugs figured that out, eh?

      Sure,
the interwebs say it was a Russian, but in ’74…but who are you going to believe, me (and my spotty recollection)? or Wikipedia?

Nobody is coming near my eyes with a laser or a knife unless the certain alternative is total blindness anyway. And certainly not if I have to pay them to do it.

I was thinking of an alternative Title for today’s comic when I read Echo’s comment above “No, Mr. Bug, I expect you to sign this liability waiver”.

    “The Eye who Bugged Me”.

Hmmm, now that I read it…it sucks.
    nevermind . . .

The first guy to sign up for laser correction? What about the first guy who signed up for the pre-laser correction where they cut on your eye with knives?
