Not to mention that Tatooine would always be the farthest planet away from you.

I, on the other hand, struggle to find a place to set my drink due to the second law of thermodynamics i.e. that side table has already been covered with other clutter[1] over the previous hour.

[1] May or may not include a cat. I think I’ve got a Schrödinger’s side table – I’m sure I didn’t see the cat get onto the side table, but (sometimes) there it is.

Everywhere you walk, tides would shift. Heck, you wouldn’t be able to fart without causing earthquakes.

That is good. That’s really good. That is comedy gold. I laughed out loud when I saw Bug going “Aw C’mon”.

I think Einstein proved that you are allowed to define yourself as center of the universe.

Another point altogether: I’d expect ‘doodahs’, not ‘doodads’. Is that my non-native-speaker ignorance or did Adam goof up?

“Doodad” is common, but I’ve only seen “doodah” in songs.

I thought “doodah” was a measurement of time at Camptown Racetracks.

One “doodah” is equal to one half a full lap. That is why there are two of them per “chorus(?)”.

The only time I see “doodah’s”:

      “Everybody sing this song
      DOODAH, DOODAH!
      Everybody sing this song
      OH THE DOODAH DAAAAY!”

Well, Einstein and Newton both showed that inertial reference frames are sort of arbitrary – that is to say, if you were in the center of the universe, things would essentially act the same way as if you were not. Defining yourself as the center would work for most equations, but things would get weird when you threw in other people.

But then, throwing people would not be nice.

Thanks, everyone, for pointers on the doodadhds!

I believe doodads sit about midway on the thingamabob spectrum that ranges from gewgaw to gadget.

Adam, you’re a freaking genius. This is why I’ve almost completely forgotten about every other webcomic I keep up with, maybe checking them once a month, and yet always come back to you every single day.

I like that scientific doodad in panel three. It’s gotta do something interesting.

I’d like to know what it does, even though I have no idea what it is.

      It’s a mechanical pencil…

The pointy tip at the end, there, is the lead. 😀

That scientific doodad looks like some sort of overly complicated telescope/microscope hybrid.
