That lit fuse though, I would get going to wherever Bill hangs out rather quickly if I were those two investigating bugs

To really apreciate dental records, you have to hear them on vinyl.

You know … I’m really wondering if explosions will have such an effect on bugs. Isn’t it said that they can survive a nuclear blast?

They can survive the radiation, not the blast itself. The blast would still create roasted bugs.

And surviving the radiation is almost entirely a function of their size. These bugs are clearly human-sized, and so their coding DNA is almost definitely as complex, so we can, a priori, assume that they’re not substantially more radiation-resistant than humans would be. Also, we have empirical evidence that they play mutation roulette in the aftermath of a nuclear blast, so clearly they’re radiation-vulnerable.

What!?! Adam doesn’t draw them under a microscope, and then post photomicrographs of his work???

You know, what I’m really wondering about this comic is… Why were you shopping for flip flops in December?

Haha … I was wondering too – but we simply don’t know how long Adam was pondering on this until he decided to share his wisdom with us.

I’m more curious about the train of thought from flip-flops to post-explosion dental records….

Easy: explosions are disastrous, and flip flops are a fashion disaster.

I’m a little confused here- wouldn’t the lack of dental records make CSIing notably harder, rather than easier?

I wondered about this very same thing, sans the flip-flops (I was buying boots) some years ago and I did some research.

Turns out that prior to the 20th century, and even arguably the 1930s, individuals were seldom alone or unobserved. It was a peer-to-peer surveillance society with nearly zero privacy.

When the explosion in panel two happened, everyone would know who got blown up from on their knowledge of who had to be at that location based the surveillance trail.
