    Not to (ahem!) rain on your cloud, but you could have stuck a “Nearly” in there. Thirty bucks ain’t nothin’.

    Just a heads up;

    Adam, alliteration always adds adverse allegory.
    It’s intention is intended.
    But, brevity berates… bohemiam… bamboozalers..

    I ran out of ‘B’s… 😀

    It’s like that Outer Limits episode where the guy survives the thing and he’s in the library with the books to keep him company and then he goes blind. Or was that Twilight Zone? Nope futurama. Way off. Sorry

      Yep, cursed by his own hubris.

        It wasn’t hubris, it was the only thing he enjoyed but nobody would allow him to do it. He was just happy he had time to read and that was the only thing that could keep him from wanting to kill himself, then he slipped on stairs. It’s completely tragic, there’s literally nothing unlikable about him, I think you might be thinking of a different thing.

        *It was Twilight Zone, the episode is called Time Enough At Last, and it’s hands down the best one in my view*

          He was thinking of the Futurama parody of “Time enough at last.” The Scary Door. Here is a clip explaining it.

            You know, the original is still pretty poignant, but watching it just now, it occurs to me that there’s not really any reason he couldn’t have hunted down an optometrist’s office and found himself a pair of non-prescription reading glasses. Or heck, even a big magnifying glass somewhere. Maybe even in the library. ….or someone else’s glasses… I know prescriptions are specific to each person, but if all those books survived, it seems like at least a few peoples’ glasses should have too, and that at least one of the pairs would be close enough to what he needed.

    If it makes you feel any better, the brain donation places usually only pay for costs related to removal and transportation of the brain, regardless of the quality of the brain.

    MIT doesn’t collect brains, but Harvard does.

    Also, if it makes you feel better, brains with significant problems are more in demand than regular brains.

    In general, donating your whole body is a bit more cost-effective — if you donate your body as a medical cadaver, they’ll pay for cremation and interment when they’re done.

    Also, you’ll be able to say that you are going to go to med school.

    There’s a little more information here:
