With some luck you’d have ordered a moose anyway.
And I want to see how you’d load that!

Oh, the fond memories of sitting close to a guy at work, who had the same kind of wireless mouse as I did…

You get to learn a few keyboard shortcuts that way.

Unless you have the same wireless keyboard….

Had the same problem with double clicking. It’s apparently a common issue with Microsoft’s Intellimouse. Or one of them.

I had 2 Logitech wireless mice that died on me that way, the past 2.

My mouse wheel is stuck, so scrolling up and down often results in my mouse thinking I clicked the wheel. And since a wheel click is the same as a double click…

*Actually, it just makes it so that links get opened in a new window. Which is still a nuisance.

I haven’t had any mouse-related issues, but I do have a keyboard where the spacebar woulsn’t work unless you smashed it in hard. Fortunately, it’s fine now and I still use it to this day, but it made video games……”interesting” to play for a while.

Also, panels one and three are the most accurate representations of computer-related frustration I’ve ever seen. Brilliant strip!

That’s the problem I had with my last mouse. On both the left and the middle button. By the time I replaced it, MMB had begun to randomly TRIPLE-click.

That seems to be a common issue nowadays.
I really wanted to play some Dirty Bomb and as it turns out, my mouse is just no good for FPS games.

Sometimes the mouse gets so bad I use my drawing tablet for browsing.

Aren’t mice the most intelligent creatures in Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy? Makes sense they’d inspire their electronic counterpart.

Could be worse. After a while, my laptop computer stops recognizing LEFT (main) mouse clicks. So yeah, learn what you can do with the right click, keyboard short cuts. Restart often. And use use that computer less.

Just turn down the sensitivity of your mouse… one of the recent updates probably reset your mouse config. and Buy a new mouse too. mice need to be replaced ever 3-6 months… just because people are disgusting. And your mice tend to pick up every bit of dirt oil food gunk and microbe that is on your hands. Seriously I work in IT your mice and your Keyboard are the most disgusting things I touch every day.

    Interesting.
My mouse has started to do this and I figured my computer was getting old (two years)

I’ll have to pull out a spare mouse and see if it changes – and then buy a new one.

I’ve honestly never had that problem. Am I the minority? I use a cheap HP-branded USB optical mouse a friend was throwing away in 2004 and I’ve had it ever since (for me it’s seen 4 motherboards, 5 CPUs and 6 OS changes) without issue – it is seriously crusty at this point but functions perfectly.

Now keyboards – I’ve broken a few of those over my knee in frustration in the past few years.

Strange enough, at one point my laptop keyboard started ddoouubbllee–ttyyppiinngg..

I eventually called in the warranty, but they required electronic forms. Where’s the logic in that???

I’m surprised no one made the “did you try unplugging it then plugging it back in” or “I’ve never had a mouse problem” comment yet.

Now that you’ve done your tribute to Berke Breathed, I can’t stop seeing Bloom County’s influence on your work: Panel 2, especially. Thanks for getting me to re-read Bloom County.

This seems to be the way high-end mice dies. None of my cheap-but mices have ever gone that way, provably because the cheap coord breaks before the switch has a chance to. Replacing the micro gap switch or sometimes re-constructing a worn out part of it using epoxy will probably fix it, but is never worth it.

This used to happen to me quite a bit, it could be a worn out spring or switch but it can sometimes be a static build up issue depending on the climate you live in and how much use the mouse gets. Always go for the simple solutions first!

    From logitech support :
“Try removing the battery from the mouse and with the battery removed, alternately right/left click for 30 seconds, replace the battery and test the mouse.”

That mouse spawned the whacked-out Joycons of today, methinks.
