A few days ago, the weather here in Madison, Wisconsin was, what could only be called “blizzardy.” The morning and afternoon alternated between bright and sunny to snowstorms and apocalypsish.
Personally, I prefer T-Rex’s poem.
So what do may flowers bring?
Allergies. Bees. (Possibly allergies to bees.)
A flowery smell.
I live in Superior, WI, so I know exactly how you feel. It’s been snowing every day for the last week. I only wish I had the time to personally flip off every flake.
April showers kill May flowers. Marshfield, WI.
I live in upstate NY, and it’s more likely to snow on Easter than Christmas…
…and what do may flowers bring? Pilgrims.
Or if you’re in California like me, where it’s “April showers… Crap, it’s 90 in April.” “Damn you summer, my flesh is melting, this huge bummer, Why’s no one helping.”
… Feh. It’ 3 am. That’s the best I can do.
Cold here in the NE too.
The 1st panel made me thing bug was doing a ‘Singing in the Rain’ bit
Mayflowers bring pilgrims.
It’s the TRUTH. They taught us that in grade school. 😉
If only you could flip off humidity because it’s a killer
And I’m sure everyone over 50, no matter WHERE you live, will say something along the lines of “Hey, if you don’t like the weather here in (fill in where you personally live), just wait 5 minutes! Heh heh heh!”
Ontario – same deal. Practically wearing shorts over Christmas and snowpants in April.
Someone now needs to expand John Belushi’s “March in like a lion” sketch to include April …
You forgot locusts, Adam.
I live in Milwaukee. We have a saying here: if you don’t like the weather, wait a few minutes. I’m getting married next Saturday; I hope it’s actually springy that day.
Just bring a few cases of Slinkys, then you are covered no matter what the weather. Get the plastic ones if you are worried about lightning, plus they can be colour matched to the reception / bridesmaids shoes.
Can confirm. In Wisconsin. Woke up with it snowing outside.
Currently muttering verse 23 under my breath.
Same in Montreal. We got a couple of inches last night but it’s raining this morning so you’re sloshing around the snow in rain boots.
Also, Bug should probably audition for Def Jam poetry nights.
That poor flower. It’s struggling.
Oh man, I’d trade places with you if I could. My towon in southern MO has gotten exactly one respectable (read: more than 3 inches) snow in the last two years. There were more days above 60F than below freezing this past winter. So when the entire rest of the country was getting hammered with snow, we saw record floods for New Years.
Rain is for suckers. Snow’s the best.
I’m in Rochester, NY for a work trip. I can sympathize with you.
April my BUTT!
I’m in Canada. I like to say “April snow-storms bring May flooding”
So April snow dumps bring May sump pumps?
Love the strip! Also, is the umbrella from panel 3 falling into panel 2, or Is that just a snow flake?
NH here, and, yeah… snow in April???? Messed up weather this year….
April showers bring May mold.
This spring in Madtown has been scary indeed! We woke up to heavy snow, rain, tornado sirens, a little bit of hail, and then more rain. But Husbando managed to drive to work in perfect sunshine.
Oh, and snow this morning despite being 50-ish now. I’ve learned that all weather forecasting is witchcraft at best.
!0-April here at -20C (about 0F) – lots of fresh snow last week and supposed to be more today.
You know, I always suspected that when the first anthropologist thought that the Eskimo had a hundred words for snow, they were just swears. And the translator was too polite to render an accurate version.
“What did he say?”
“He, uh, he said it was snowing. Again.”
April showers may bring flowers, but the 20degrees and snow tomorrow will kill them
