Argh, I know some good jokes for the last panel but out of respect to others I shan’t put them here. (Which is a shame because one of them would work well with the 2nd and 4th panel…hint: do unto others) Also for the third panel: Forgive me father for I have sinned, I slept with someone who wasn’t my wife and she has been giving me *sunglasses* the cold shoulder. YYYYYEEEEEAAAAAHHHHH! (He actually has sunglasses!)
Get over yourself. If you can't have a laugh at a webcomic – where lewdness and sacrilege are values to look for – then don't read it and get back to your bible group.
Now, now you two, there's no need for hostility. Some might view this as offensive but you've GOT to admit it's pretty funny. We all have lines that we don't want crossed and I'm sure Adam doesn't want anyone to be offended but Jesus preached turning the other cheek, so tymime let people have a laugh at what you hold dear and IITYWYBAD never respond angrily to someone who is offended, it's not like he said bug is a bad comic merely that this one upset him.
What's the offensive part? The fact that Bug would be such a lousy priest that he'd be unaware of Jesus? That a fictional character would bless pee to fight other fictional monsters? Explain why that's offensive, please.
I love how a lot of Christians laugh at jokes that others might find offensive, but even an innocent joke about Christianity is "crossing the line". Not speaking of you in particular, tymime, since you said you like some Christian humor, but you just reminded me of those people.
I'll have you know that I've been laughing at all the other Christian jokes in this comic, so I'm not one of those touchy uptight Christian stereotypes you all automatically assumed I was. I've admired Adam's ability to create humor out of Christian topics- they show a good knowledge of the actual beliefs, which has led me to believe that he's an actual church-goer (I apologize if I'm wrong).
I didn't like this joke because the concept of holy urine and raunchy behavior from a priest (as unfortunately real as the latter can be) blemishes things I have great respect for- that, and jokes about pee are grosser than other things I've seen here, and Bug seems out of character. There hasn't been jokes that I would consider sacrilegious before…
You know what I love? How so many people assume that all Christians are the most godawful people on earth. I LOVE this comic, and just because I voiced a negative opinion of it for the very first time doesn't mean I should get a whole lot of tomatoes thrown at me for it.
I'm not sure why turning the other cheek has been brought up- it's not as though I had received any harm…
I dunno. I think the concept of pee actually being able to be made to be holy is a pretty darn good one. I don't see it as being disrespectful, I'm just curious as to whether anyone has tried it. What would the results be? Can pee be turned full-on holy? Or does it just become less acidic?
