Panel 2 bug should be smoking a cigar. Just sayin’…
But yeah, my generation (tail end of the Baby Boomers) didn’t get much to talk about when it comes to the good old days.
    Disco
    CB Radio craze
Nixon, Reagan, Clinton & G.W. Bush
    Disco Duck
    Pee Wee Herman
    Etc.
    We got hosed!

We will tell our grandchildren how we saved the world 100 times…

    …in video games!

What about the wars that our generation is fighting?

We’re so detached with the wars since we have a lot of stuff to distract us more.

The “Greatest Generation” won world war II, ok… that’s cool and all but mostly they blew stuff and invented the atom bomb, which… blew stuff up.

Our generation did a few things:
Sent a man to the moon
Figured out how to transplant organs
    Put a laboratory in space
    Put a space station up
    invented desktop computers… cell phones… GPS… internet

I could continue, but I’m a little tired of people going on about how awesome the generations that fought world wars are… I prefer this generation that MAKES things, not blow them up.

      – Sent a man to the moon

Because there was a race. Now we prefer to sit down and watch Duck Dynasty rather than talking about how to colonize Mars.

      – Figured out how to transplant organs

Now those drunkards will chug alcohol like there’s no tomorrow and replace their kidneys when they start failing. Then they will drink some more.

      – Put a laboratory in space

Then decided to reduce NASA funding and spend it more on pointless wars.

      – Put a space station up

      We need space elevator!

      – invented desktop computers… cell phones… GPS… internet

Okay, those inventions are awesome. Portable porns wherever we go!

It is actually extremely difficult for an alcoholic to get on the transplant list. Also anyone who has ever attempted suicide.

gsekse must really envy those who speak German or Japanse… otherwise, had “we” not intervened, we’d all be spreken der Deutcher.

I’d kinda agree Neil Armstrong is a different generation from right now. Also, the big difference is being missed here: for most of us, those were things that happened, not things we participated in. Settling new places, exploring, and wars, those define a generation because they were part of it. A grandson can just watch the stuff we watched.

But, but our generation made…no, that was a mindless time waster.
OH, we did…no, another mindless time waster.
But ya gotta remember…*sigh* another time waster.

Forget it. I’m going to go drink. A timely mind waster.

If the “Greatest Generation” hadn’t won the war, the Boomer Generation wouldn’t have had the chance to send a man to the moon, figure out how to transplant organs, construct the space station or any of the other technological inventions we use now.

And if their fathers hadn’t won WWI, and the North hadn’t won the Civil War, and the colonies didn’t win the Revolutionary War, and England didn’t win whatever, and the Visigoth’s didn’t defeat Rome (or whatever), and … cavemen didn’t discover fire and invent the wheel…

    Don’t be so pessimistic.
World War III could still happen before we’re old.

and some of our generation saw Gulf war, Arabic spring, economic down fall, an open world, a guineas book.
but the thing that bothers me the most, why is it that the soldier is carrying an mp40?
    still, nice one

I doubt there will be anything resembling history on the “History” channel when we get old, so it’s a moot point anyway

At least your generation wasn’t so entitled as to think that everything which contradicts an individual’s personality, beliefs, etc., should be censored in the name of mental health.
