Then again, I totally get the “checking to see if you’re dead” bit. Not so much the being dead part, but the checking. Every once in a while I’ll say “computer, freeze program” to make sure I haven’t wandered into a holo-deck.
Same here. Also, sometimes people just seem to ignore me and don’t respond to whatever I say. My initial thoughts are never “Dudes, notice me!”, but rather “Oh shit, I died on the way here and now my soul is stuck in this world for eternity”, followed, when I checked that I’m still alive, by a “Oh shit, my friends always hated me, and now they are sick of pretending to like me to be polite and just ignore me until I go away, I GODDAMN KNEW IT” followed, when they finally notice me, by a “Oh, well, they apparently just didn’t hear me”.
