I find this is becoming a trend: I come up with a premise, write three panels of jokes, then, just for the hell of it, put in a throw-away joke in the first panel that ends up becoming my favorite joke of the strip.

That was my intention. If memory serves, and my memory is spotty at best, "fintoozler" was one of the toys mentioned in the original "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." I spent a half hour online, trying to find some sort of confirmation that the word was in the movie and not just my imagination.
After having no luck finding it on the interwebs, I drove to a book store and found the book. I gave it a quick read and couldn't find it in there either. It was getting late at that point so I said, "To hell with it. I'm puttin' it in."
Does anyone remember a "fintoozler" being mentioned in that movie?
