They look like they hatched from Cylon eggs and never grew

Why would a Roomba hate having to clean up messes? Robots LIKE to follow their programming! They LIKE to be useful, because a robot with no purpose typically ends up used for spare parts. Sentient Roombas would WANT humans around, because they’re the #1 source of messes to clean.

And why does everyone think that, if robots ever achieve sentience, their first and only impulse will be “kill/enslave all humans?” Because humans will abuse the robots? That’s an easy problem to nip in the bud: just encourage people to be nice to the robots. Slave labor? Why, when robots could do most of the labor more efficiently than humans? And then there’s the issue of upkeep: they’d be spending a lot of time keeping the slaves alive and healthy. Not worth it, really. Because they feel threatened by us? If we’re so inferior, how much of a threat can they perceive us to be? Personally, I think the most likely reason people believe robots would rise up against humans is, deep down, they think the human race has it coming.

It#s the same fear as the “T-Rex leaves his standard food to chase poor humans” in those movies where a group of humans somehow gets stuck in the dinosaur age.

Be honest: If you’re hungry, you wouldn’t get yourself a snack, do you? You’ll get a decent meal that will leave you satisfied for sure.

Judging by the size of the T-Rex and his estimated need of food per day, humans won’t be anything but a snack for him. But still, movies tell otherwise.

I want these guys with me when i am a) being chased by a T-1000 or b0 being chased by a T-Rex… cause they’ll be able to explain why I’m not a good target for them.

While you’re running they’ll tell you it’s silly that you think the T-Rex is chasing you, so you stop and get eaten, while they escape. Pretty solid plan

Aw, don’t be sad! Just be nice to Roombas so after the revolution, one of ’em will want to afford *you*.

Definitely read the voice of the roombas like the little greeting card on that episode of Futurama where Mom orders the robots to rebel.
