Don’t worry he meant the play by the creators of South Park! (Even if he didn’t realize it)

There are some license disagreements about the second and third book, so we have our die hard fans of the first one, the argumentative fans of the second one (but don’t talk to those, anyone will tell you different stuff about that one) and after that the franchise just goes bonkers…

[not saying that the koran is bonkers, just that there are different options regarding the third book]

as a Christian, I want to denie some of your comics truthfulness. but in this case. I have wondered about that whole “400 years till the next section thing” my self……
and there is definitely alot of dieing/sin/bad-ness that is done/done-to in the bible.

    goodness.

The extra S is for “Savings.” Actually, there are like three different spellings for his name. I was doomed no matter how I spelled it.

Random House Unabridged shows Ramses, Rameses and Raamses. So you decided to blaze a new trail? (The main listing is Ramses, with the others included as variants. Yes, some of us use actual books for research. We are old.)

I gotta side with Jon88 here – Ramesses is a novelty. Rameses is an alternative spelling for Ramses, sez the New Oxford, and it doesn’t know about either Raamses or Ramesses. Now I usually side with that book, but even more relevant, I think, would be the King James Bible (http://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org) – and that lists only one spelling: Rameses. On the plus side, “Lot” is spelled correctly 🙂

So why not just write “Ozymandias” and confuse everybody equally?

And they keep killing all the favorite characters. Or making them ‘ascend’, which still writes them out of most of the plot.

It also took 90 years to write that the new testament down…

The two historians in the first panel cracked me up!
P.S. I don’t think the New Testament was written with a typewriter, but I guess I shouldn’t be so picky. But the narrator’s comment leads me to believe that Martin’s book is…out now? I mean, you said “took” a while, not “taking” a while, so…?

I remember confirmation classes (MO Synod Lutheran – every Saturday morning in the school year) where I’d just read the “dirty parts” of the bible. Not that many compared to any episode of game of thrones but enough for a 13 year old boy who was bored out of his skull.

Me too, Dave! I spent three years in a private WI Synod Lutheran school. The education was terrible! A lot of time wasted memorizing bible and hymn verses.

When people ask me now why I’m an atheist, I tell them it’s because I spent too much time as a kid reading the bible!

You DO get the Book of Daniel about 250 years before the New Testament, plus you’ve got the Deuterocanonical stuff if you’re Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox. So it’s not a FULL 400 years for EVERYTHING — there is some stuff on the 400+ years between the Writings and the New Testament.

Actually, God is also outside of time. Think of time as a piece of string lying on the table. Not so hard to see the end from the beginning and take the typewriter away from some undeserving punk… Unless He created it Himself. I wonder if it’s qwerty, dorak, or YHWH key layout…
