Wait … are you saying the Incas didn't invent Pop Tarts?

They totally did. Well, sort of.

The Inca, along with many other South American native cultures, used a tribute system of government. When it was your turn, you went and worked for the government for the day/week/month, doing what it was your turn to do.

The same was true for the Wonka (I am NOT making this up, though it is I suppose possible that my Anthro 8 professor did). But among the Wonka, both men and women did tribute work; some of the women on tribute made lunch for all the other tribute workers (consisting of giant pots of stew, about the only thing the Wonka ate).

The Inca conquered the Wonka. They made few changes, but one was that there were no women doing tribute work for the government. This meant there were no cooks on staff, so you had to pack a lunch.

Rather than invent Tupperware, they instituted tortillas. Now, without electricity, gas, giant horse-driven millstones, etc. making tortillas is basically a full-time job. So while the women among the Wonka also did most of the crafts and market trade, they no longer had time, because they were making those damn tortillas all day.

(And this, incidentally, is part of why I don't find the "sammich" meme even slightly amusing.)

Wait, wait, wait… I thought they invented tootsie rolls.

And which part of the economy is like Krull? The part where they kill the henchmen, and the head explodes, letting loose the little worm thing?

Clever. I found myself chuckling along to this one because I've done all of the three before. I appreciate your style and am glad I stumbled upon this webcomic.

When I don’t know what they’re talking about, I just feign knowledge by agreeing with what people say, like “yeah… uh-huh… uh-huh…”.
