I heard Bug’s line in the last panel in James May’s voice.

Try a bone conduction headset. They don’t plug or cover your ears at all. I don’t want to call out any specific brand, but it’s similar to the tremors after an earthquake. 🙂

Earbuds are horrible pieces of Mulch regardless of whether they’re wired or not. They’re uncomfortable, forcing your ear wider to hold them. I much prefer proper padded headphones, or ear-enveloping noise-cancellation headphones.

And wireless headphones of any size or shape are a disaster waiting to happen. Never mind the difficulty of trying to connect them to the device without an easy interface; if your device gets dropped or stolen, or you leave it behind, there’s no warning until you’re out of wireless range. Wired headphones let you know right away as the cord is yanked out of the jack.

In summary: wireless earbuds are a combination of two derivatives of classical headphones I very much hate, and frick them very much.

I’ve always found that headphones have never given me quite the bass that earbuds do. Perhaps I’d need a more expensive pair.

I also prefer around-the-ear headphones. At home and work, that is. Outside I rather use something I can put in a pocket and doesn’t block other sounds. Big headphones don’t exactly fit under the cycling helmet any way. Still, I wouldn’t touch those “pod” designs. I want a wire to connect the two earbuds, I don’t want to look where I put half of what should be a single device.

I prefer earpuds particularly the ones that actually go into your ear canal, they’re what I find the most comfortable

I just assume I’d lose wireless earbuds. It’s a waste of money waiting to happen.

If you’re more than 20 years old, you ARE a man from the 1900s.

I think he means 1900s the decade, not the century.

Nice one! I especially like the Victrola and iPod “Nina” references. (At least there were no Microsoft “Zoom” references!)

This cartoon reminds me of a time when I admitted to my co-workers that I didn’t know what Kerbal Space Program was. One co-worker was happy to (patiently) explain to me that it was a PC game and what about it that made it so fun.

I asked, “Can I buy it on a disc?”

Taken off guard, the young co-worker replied, “You don’t play many PC games, do you?”

In his eyes, I probably aged thirty years in five seconds.

Exactly how old are you, Adam? Because the “youngest” Millennial are in their early to mid twenties, and the oldest of us are in our mid 30s and pushing 40.

So, unless you’re nearing your 50s, you’re closer to being a Millennial than a Boomer.

Tie the earbuds ends (treating them like one piece) and the plug end in a very gentle square knot, and they won’t get tangled. To use, just untangle.

I haven’t tried that yet, but it sounds like good advice. Thanks for sharing!

(I think you meant to end your advice with “To use, just untie.” Otherwise, what’s the point?)

IIRC the latest buzzword for “kids these days” is “Zoomers”
