I heard about a guy who tried to shoot a rocket out of his butt. He ended up in surgery with damage that the nurses are probably still talking about. If you can do something stupid with technology, somebody has.

We Finnish have adopted the Chinese tradition even further, using fireworks to celebrate New Year’s eve – that actually is only 25 days from our independence day.
Fireworks are all the more spectacular in the dark of the northern winter ^^
hahahahaha suicide bomber joke was awesome! we do dumb stuff on the 4th too, one year my friend almost killed some fish with a roman candle that went off too early
They aren’t illegal in either the US or Australia. You just have to have a license for the ones that shoot up in the sky and explode, which makes perfect sense.
funny how the fireworks _are_ illegal in Australia, but all my numbnut neighbours seem to be able to buy them all year round, judging by the fact that they set the damn things off all year round.

FWIW, most the combat vets I know are not keen on the way the endless firework blasts cause them to have mild to severe flashbacks of their combat experiences.

I have family in medical professions, and that story is pretty tame compared to some of the awe-inspiring stupidity they’ve told me stories about.

Come to Portugal where fireworks are used to celebrate everything… Except our own National Day, because no one really cares about it.
Same in Spain! They can’t afford to fix the potholes in the road but seem to be able to have daily fireworks… =P
I have actually done firework wars with roman candles and baby rockets. It was okay though, we wore shades as protection.
