This happens to me on a daily basis. Except without the added benefit of having stuff to sell on ebay =P.

Side note, stumbled across this comic yesterday, loved it so much that i read through all the archives and fell in love. You've got a new follower!

I take everything from hotel rooms. And use the sewing kit on everything else I can't take.

OK, like, you use the sewing kit to repair some of your own belongings, or you use the sewing kit on random stuff around the room? Embroider a purple daisy on the pillow case, stitch up that tear in desk chair, etc…?

Don't you just hate it when they squish the rolls(to make it last longer….) It makes the whole ordeal quite unpleasant.

beans and rice my friend. The trick is the rice, making it a complete protein (all essential amino acids) dish. Can of beans is $1 or less, rice costs a nickel or so per double (1 cup uncooked) serving. Add cheap salsa and its delicious!

My dinner every night for….2-3 years at least.

He has his priorities straight. The internet is another utility like water and electric. I need the internet in order to do my job. I have to read my email and when I was enrolled in college I had to be online all the time to research papers and participate in discussions. I took online classes because they were cheaper than in person.

I almost read the first dialog in the last panel as two different statements because of the spacing in the words: "Some stole toilet from men's!" and "Maniac all the paper the room!" Still makes perfect sense to me though.

Thanks for continuing to make such a great comic!

I realized I was poor when I found myself hiding food, so that there will still be something to eat the next day. Too many people in this house, and not enough money. 🙁

Great comic, though; haha, it hit home for me.

hahaha so true, and sad at the same time because I can compare. Except I use craigslist to pay for new clothes…ebay charges ( ah the joys of being a college student). I relate this to comic all too well. BTW I love these comics, I went through them all, my kind of humor. I hope you plan to make a book to sell with a collection of all these!

Reminds me of my dad; in the same job as other people and higher up, so better paid than they are, they keep saying things like they'll spend a week in this country, or two weeks in that one (Egypt, France, Greece, you name it). He can't work out how the hell they can afford it; his mortgage is paid off, and HE can't…

I figure they avoid laundry, bathing and brushing their teeth, and eat twenty-cent ramen packets for dinner, which allows them to save up.

Ah yes, being poor. Some of my friends would sneak into the school gym to shower, so they wouldn't have to pay for utilities at their apartments. I envied them those apartments as I snuck into supply cabinets in my dorm to thieve all sorts of odd supplies. (My favorite was the cleaning supplies. That stuff is not cheap, but I like a clean space, so it worked out well-until the janitorial staff wondered where the hell the Windex was every week.)

    while this is pretty funny.

there is a lot of truth in it. it sucks when a friend talks about going to australia or the UK and you're like, "well, my mom works at walmart, and i've gotta work a hustle just to pay for community college."

but you gotta be able to laugh at yourself i guess. dark humor though.

Love the comic, am amazed at the range & depth of your subject matter!I only have one question — Do you have to work hard to come up with the various themes and twists – or – is the comic your means of relieving the pressure of a mind constantly bombarded with a cascade of the ultra bizare? No matter which, you rule!!!
