I guess this holds true for the states.

And that’s why you guys should emulate the socialist countries – free healthcare.
No need to let the lottery of life cripple an entire family.

Oh yes, we’ll get on that right away. Why didn’t we think of that before? OH WAIT WE DID

Hong Kong is on average person a better capitalist state, and we have free healthcare, thanks to the British Government. Its much much cooler than to have the private medicare hospitals legally robbing you just because you had an accident.

I wish my country use Canada’s or HK’s healthcare system. Instead we use American-like healthcare system and it’s pretty suck. A lot of people never receive treatment they need.

The Canadian system has huge waiting lists for things though.

yeah, american health care might be expensive, but at least you can get it before you die. it’s easy to tout the cost of a service that never gives you anything.

Free my ass. Either there is 70% taxation to pay for it or health care costs on the relatively healthy are inflated to pay for the sick.

Oh, and while we’re discussing socialism, how many socialist economies are going to collapse before you people STOP TRYING TO IMPLEMENT IT IN AMERICA!?

My mother does this. She “crushed” her foot once, got permanent diabetes, and just recently demolished three of her toes on the furniture. As a result, my father has to work overtime to keep up with medicine costs and doctor’s visits while she pigs out on the groceries an does nothing all day.

I heard a lot of people oppose it and fight tooth and nail against it. By giving stupid hyperbole reasons XD

Yes I know! Few months ago I met an older tourist from Texas, who talked about Obama Care as it were the birth of Antichrist 😀
I should have informed myself more carefully, but I have to admit I think of it in an indifferent, snooty way… Shame on me 🙂

We oppose it because a Government Agency will decide what we’ll need [or, if we’re “worthy” – based on age, health, etc] instead of a Doctor who knows what the heck he’s talking about.

You distrust your own govt a little bit too much.

It can happen if it’s asshole who handle the decision making. But if it’s a nice and rationale guy? You worry too much.

I don’t remember a Canadian received lesser treatment because the govt deemed them “not worthy.”

Americans fight tooth and nail to oppose EVERYTHING by giving stupid hyperbole reasons. And the biggest reason I think most of them have is because the guy who had the idea wasn’t from the right Party.

Any country founded via revolution should. (distrust government, that is. Here’s looking at you, France!) Besides that, monopolies have historically been bad for customers, and considering the state of the american education system…

i’ve gotta say, any system where the people implementing it demand exemption for themselves raises red flags for me. (not to mention obama has never failed to find a “cheap” solution to anything, if the national debt is any indication)

Being Australian this isn’t an issue(except perhaps the care side) but if it were I’m not sure who would ‘win’ bone disease in knees + major anxiety vs depression + chronic fatigue lol

One of the reasons I’m not getting married. Of course, I could be the winner, considering my diet and never seeing a doctor due to having no health insurance, but I would totally have guilt.

Yeah, Mahnarch…Doctors haven’t decided on treatment in years. A for-profit insurance company who thinks it would be much cheaper if you’d just please die quickly makes those choices. You’re better off with the government. More likely to be neglect than malice.
