What stopped them was knowing that everybody in town has to drink water from that well, so they would be hurting themselves along with everyone else.

Magic Missile can’t sterilize anything, they’re force damage. But it does sound funnier than Purify Food and Drink.

What else could one do, though? Maybe hit the water with a few Fire Bolts to boil it then Prestidigitation to cool it down?

I was going to post that exact same issue with Magic Missile except I was going to suggest a good old fashioned fireball. And if that didn’t work, just channel more mana into an even bigger fireball.

So, in the last panel, are those motion indicators to indicate a disgusted hand-flailing, or dice being released with far too much outward momentum? Because if the latter, I guaranteecthat whichever dice don’t hit your GM’s setup are gonna end up off the table.

First, I don’t see motion indicators.
      Second, I don’t see dice.
I see magic missiles. Three of them, to be exact.

A PC casting a spell requires the correspondent player to roll at least one die per action. Panel 4 is showing the player, not the PC.

And if you’re assuming the player is a wizard himself, aiming a Magic Missile spell at your GM sounds like an easy way to ruin your gaming session.

He’s throwing 3 (indicating he’s a 3rd level wizard) D4’s (which is the correct die for a magic missile). Those D4’s roll badly, as one can imagine, so they require a little airtime to be properly random.

I know tabletop games, but lack any experience with D&D specifically. Consequently, I didn’t know which dice he was specifically rolling (I distinctly remembering Adam making mention to ‘fudging’ a d20), I just suspected that he was rolling dice. If those are d4’s, their trajectory makes a good deal more sense. Thank you for the explanation.

I’m pretty sure thirst would eventually get the better of you and you would be obligated to drink from the well water. drink deep from the well water.

I appreciate the eye to detail that he’s rolling d4’s.

I’m pulling this in the next game I play. I’ll direct my DM’s evil glare your way.
