One will hatch an ostrich, and one will hatch a chicken.

One is an Ostregg, the other is a Chickegg.

The only one I can think of would be “Do you sell more eggs around Halloween?”

Not Easter? Ostregg is too heavy as a handheld projectile.

Actually, asking to ride one makes perfect sense, a lot of ostrich farms actually offer that.

Huh, I interpreted that panel as him thinking he’d look stupid riding the ostrich.

You are correct. Although both interpretations work.

You just made my night… actually, probably made my week. I grew up on an Emu farm, no joke. This hits home! Upon discovering this fact people would 1st: stare blankly, 2nd: try to remember what exactly an Emu is (like an Ostrich, right?), and 3rd: recover and ask me what we did with the eggs…… why yes, I did eat them for breakfast quite often (2 or 3 of them would feed our family of 7)

I will skip 1st and 2nd because I know that Emu taste delicious and I will ask you if you going to have a barbie that weekend.

They are delicious! Emu makes a lean but juicy steak! Only disturbing part of my childhood is the fact that my dad liked to write the name of the emu on each butcher package…. Didn’t realize til adulthood that he picked a random emu name and didn’t actually keep track of which emu went into each package…. His little joke. So we ate our “pets”, that’s not weird, right?

Can an ostrich peck your head off?

No, but it can kill you with a kick (no joke).

I can imagine they could with those sharp claws.

Those claws are not the problem. It’s the fact that they are big and strong enough to crack your bones in a single kick is what make them feared.

Oh man, I grew up watching “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom”. I guess that makes ME an “old reference”.

I’ve had ostrich. It tastes yummy – closer to good beef than chicken.

Riding an ostrich would be AWESOME – assuming you have a suit of armor and a lance. And on ostrich that can fly. I hear those are rare.

The main difference si know of between emu and ostrich is that only one of them has defeated the Australian army.
