Oh, how many times have I done Panel 2?

Panel 2 is brilliantly drawn, and so true. It reminds me of the joke you made about forgetting to wash out the conditioner. Both are me. I MUST have old people forgetfulness syndrome.

Panel 2 is a pretty common one for myself as well, along with forgetting that my glasses are already on my face, holding the pencil/pen/paper that I’m looking for in my hand, and forgetting the title/artist of a song I know by heart.

Hi Ninelen, all those plus panel 3 for me about Russell Crowe! Cheers!

    Holy…

Literally only yesterday I had to hop on IMDB to figure out Russell Crowe’s name. Couldn’t remember “The Next 3 Days” either (Which is what I wanted to watch), so I had to IMDB “Gladiator”.

    It was a process.

Nooooo!!! Not niece bug! I was just getting to like her — with the attitude and the uzi and everthang.

This is actually a pretty serious PSA today. Even young people act all Alzheimery around the holidays. The easiest way to remember what step of the showering process you’re in the midst of is to put a bit of your hair/antenna in your mouth.

The easiest way to remember an actor’s name is to try and remember just one of their (32) film’s names. Or google “phone chucking gladiator.”

Oh and your options for remembering where you parked your car during the Black Friday stampede are:

      1. Write it down
      2. Use public transportation
      3. Have someone drop you off
      4. Drive a very distinctive Mystery Machine
      5. Put Penn State pennants on it

Trick to see if you’ve shampooed already: Grasp some of your hair tight enough to pull, but loose enough to slide. Pull your hand off, maintaining grip. If your hair squeaks, you’ve shampooed it.

Actually, if you start with Kevin Bacon and go back 6 steps…
Truth to tell, I never have a hard time remembering Russell Crowe’s name because people (young women) mistake me for him all the time. Yeah, him, Brad Pitt & George Clooney too, while we’re at it…

Panel 1 – I don’t trust anyone who can spell this word from memory.
Panel 2 – Who says you have to pay attention in the shower?
Panel 3 – Who cares what his name is?
Panel 4 – Always look up.

What hair is Bug shampooing? I can’t see any. Is it his antennae that needs a good wash every now and then?

The other day I went and got my vicodin, a few minutes later I was trying to figure out if I had taken them or not, I had to wait another hour of pain to see if I had taken them or not

    Best comic you’ve written man!
    I love it!
My worst was the time I forgot the word ‘car’ (yes that happened…) and the description “the thing with wheels outside” would only get the response ‘cart’ no matter how many driving motions I did.
P.S. love bugs body language in panel 3 😀

Always use an extremely aromatic shampoo. Lilac concentrate or some such. Just opening the bottle gives you the aroma you can remember.(Almost) everyone is too polite to say, “Pee Yew” when you emerge from the shower.

That is so true. So many times I checked the time, and a second later had to check again because I forgot.

Absentmindedness is when you forgot where you put your car keys. Alzheimer’s is when you forgot what car keys are for.

Shampooing – so true. Also got very impressed at myself when just last week I spent a couple of minutes searching for my wallet in my bag with one hand. While I was holding my wallet and my gloves in the other. Yay!

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve looked for something that I already had in my hand. I sometimes wonder if I, too, have old-people-forgetting. My friend’s g”lost” her glasses and had her entire class helping her search for them when after about ten minutes or so her teacher finally pointed out that she was still wearing them XD

There’s a good chance somebody has already said this (given the sheer number of comments, all of which I just skipped right over), but the third panel is a perfectly natural phenomenon. It’s called presque vu (literally “almost seen”), and it occurs because when your brain is trying to remember something, its first instinct to clear up confusion is to block out anything that sounds similar–including, sometimes, the very thing you’re trying to remember.
