This wouldn’t have been necessary if he would just RAM it.

A shame about that key, though. How can I possibly type this comic’s name, now!? “Bug Matini” just doesn’t have the same oomph.

I like it how you take a joke to its logical conclusion.

Oh yeah. He certainly knows how to turn a phrase. I’ve had to learn not to drink my coffee while reading this comic. Too dangerous.

You forgot the part about how things get moved for no apparent reason. So not only are the lips huge, but now they are on the left shoulder.

    New features:

-Forgets everything about you, so you have to set everything back up how you like it

-Moves, changes and removes various minor features that you were using

-No longer supports your video card

-UI is now uglier and harder to navigate

-Added lots more junk you’ll never use

-Some tasks you do every now and then are now much more complicated

    (every OS upgrade ever.)

I’ve always found it odd, that when you install windows from scratch you have to wait while windows is “Configuring your personal settings” even though you haven’t told it a single personal thing yet. Once done, you’re left with a completely default setting, the least personal setting available..

This! This is precisely why I’m cynical about the state of computers today!

(sarcasm) Ooh! This operating system is better than ever because it’s so pretty! My operating system is superior to your operating system because it’s newer! If my operating system can’t run this old program, even if it is the most useful program known to mankind, then the old program must be outdated and worthless, so it’s best to just forget about it! (sarcasm)

Every time you buy a computer you’re buying a much-lauded piece of technology that’s just going to be looked down upon with disdain in a handful of years.

If you value your computer enough to take care of it many years into the future, people will eventually think you’re crazy or eccentric for refusing to embrace the newest junk that they are so proud of owning.

There was a time when a computer’s operating system was one of the smallest programs that ever ran on a computer (it had to be, so that large programs could run on it). Today, the operating system is BY FAR the largest program most people ever run on their computer.

(Sorry for the rant. This is a touchy subject for me that few people seem to care about.)

So, uh, nice job illustrating my frustration, Adam.

I read an article lately, that an OS nowadays isn’t about the OS itself, but about the services that come with it, because 80% of the time the user just uses his browser anyways. And that’s why we all need the next new OS.

Hello!? You OS-providers forced me to use an OS without any integrated services (and perhaps without usable browser) for years! So now my computer already is equipped with all services I need even without your help!?
      :-/

    GREAT cartoon!

Macro$hit giveth (a slightly shiny crumb); Macro$hit taketh (whatever you found most useful); and Macro$hit hideth (everything else). 😛
