      Quick French lesson:

      Zut Alors: Darn!

      C'est la vie!: That's life!

Merde: The very hard to pronounce French word for "Shit!"

      Ennui: Boredom or monotony

Have long admired the strip but wanted to say that I always enjoy the hands on the various Bugs– in a few lines you make them so expressive. Panel 4 is a great example.

Office life in France would be a breeze… and you get the whole month of August off!

In 'Sicko' French people said that they get like five weeks of paid vacation I think.

Yes we do get 5 weeks of paid vacations per year in private companies (sometimes a bit more), and a lot more for people working in the public administration

      nice comic btw 🙂

Errrr, not exactly true, you also get 5 weeks of paid vacation in public employement. The only execption are teachers, since there is not much to do when there is no one around to teach. And let’s not even get into RTTs, it is probably too out of this world.
A few other benefits of France is virtually free health and education (free from pre- to high-school, tuition for college is something qround $200 a year and yes, this is two hundred, not a typo). Oh, and the tax form takes exactly 15 minutes to fill out.
The cons are all-nuclear energy, président Sarkosy, Mickaël Vendetta, a growing public deficit, a derelict self-conflicting left-wing, and that old hag of a neighbour I had to suffer for years.

I hope you see the irony of your statements and are being snarky.
“Free” health and education. “Cheap” college…
          Growing debt/deficit. Bankruptcy.
And, now the Francies elect a socialist President to make it all better?!
          Achtung! Die fuhrer ist neigh!

@Jep, that'll so in many european states. 5-6 weeks of vacation. That's why you see Germans travelling so much. Too(?) much time! 🙂

All thanks to workers unions that aren't just bullies like in the U.S. but actually get something done for us.

Actually, in most works (research works at least) you get 2 weeks each year which you can accumulate, so after 3 years you have a vacation of 6 weeks

I’m not sure what you mean, but here in Germany, the law says that for a full time job, you get a minimum of 24 paid vacation days every year.

In Panel 2, the dispenser has two spigots. In the US, one is hot, one is cold. I'm trying to figure out what they would be in France. Certainly not "chaud" for a wine-cooler. Holy Carp! I just realized that's a "wine-cooler". EXCELLENT Work Adam!

Oh yes there is my dear.
I don’t want to sound too cliché, but the hardest difference to adjust to is food. And one very curious thing is, for a nation with such love for sugar in general to offer such a poor choice in sweets and pastries is unbelievable. Here, the chocolate section of a supermarket consists of three shelves when in France it is an entire aisle.
Appart from that it is really easy to adjust to the american way of life.
Oh, another important thing to know is that 99.7% of americans are NOT uncultured red-necks.
