Pocket’s original purpose was for pocket watches.

Pockets were originally “poquettes” or miniature poques, belt bags meant to contain anything the wearer desired. Tailors got fancy and added these pouches in attached form to pants and shirts to prevent easy thievery. The word was simply anglicized to become “pockets”.

Thus once again proving there is no phrase more powerful and terrifying than “in my pants.”

It’s either for my pocket watch ( the 40 year old one or the 100+ year old one ) or the coin that tells me it’s time to wash the jeans.

Condoms fit nicely in there too 🙂 And then you don’t have to search to the bottom of your pockets to find it.

The key to my house used to fit in there pretty well too since it was by itself, but I was probably the exception since most people I know had tons of keys.

It’s a perfect size for a Zippo lighter, too – just don’t put too much fuel in, otherwise you end up with an interesting chemical burn on an awkward part of your leg…

Well, actually, I don’t like them. I like the Jelly Belly kind, but regular jelly beans…not so much. Even when I was a little girl, I was willing to trade all my Easter basket jelly beans for other candies. I know Ronald Reagan would’ve been appalled.

Jelly beans are a good kind of nasty grandma candy. The kind of thing where you’re at grandma’s and you ask her if she has any candy and she says, “You betcha!” and opens a jar containing jelly beans and black licorice. Blech!

I always wonder why so many people dislike black licorice. I mean, I know it’s personal tastes and everything, but why does the ratio seem so lopsided? I think it’s pretty good.

Black Licorice = Nasty! Gross! Disgusting!
P.S. According to my brother, a decided black licorice LOVER, all other “licorice” is not licorice. Only Black is “real” licorice.
          Whatevs…that stuff is garbage!

I wouldn’t know this feeling, my grandpa bought massive bags of buzzuka bubble gum, it’s good, if you can manage to chew it.

Believe it or not – we really called them “condom pockets” in my country when I was young. Granted, that’s been a long time ago.

Isolate the first panel and remove the top caption.
Post it to an image board with absolutely no given context.
    Enjoy the show.

And after all this years the comic is been online, I still get upset every time I read comments from people trying to bring logic into the Bug universe.
    Please stop!

Stop with the f*cking pop-up ads! I don’t mind clicking on an ad link to help you pay your bills, but this stupid “over capacity, clean up mess now?” ad is BULLSHIT!

Maybe it’s just those of us on mobile browsers, but it’s annoying and makes me want to stop reading your otherwise funny and enjoyable comic.

Sorry I was so vehement, Adam. I was in the middle of typing a message about the pop-ups… And lost it because of a pop-up!

I really do appreciate your work. I’ve been a massive fan of webcomics in general for seven years or so and I can’t believe I’ve never run across your site before.

So, please accept my apologies for being too forceful with my comment. And thanks for looking into it.

I got my second cell phone in like 2006. It was a small flip phone that fit perfectly in the watch pocket/change pocket. Then I got my third phone, a QWERTY slider, and it fit really well there. Now I have an S4, and it only fits there depending on the size of the pants I’m currently wearing. I’m always sad when I realize I’m wearing the pants it won’t fit in the watch pocket of.
