Third option: Boba Fett was bringing his clients a bag of any old ashes, and not doing what he was hired for. His clients got wise and were demanding substantial proof.

I think that was part of the joke.
How else would he get the ash/soot.
      Also getting paid twice.

That’s how I would read the fourth panel…

Bobba Fetts probably a really angry, bitter person and it affects his work.

Think about it. He’s got like, a literal million brothers, but he’s he favorite and then dear old dad gets wacked and he goes from “one in a million” to “there’s another million just like him.”

Got to have left him with issues.

But they’re not just like him. All the clones were genetically modified for obediance and loyalty, with certain ones modified for the ability to command. They’re physically similar to him, but mentally, they’re basically completely different people. Jango requested a completely unaltered clone and raised him as a son, so Boba is literally identical to Jango.

Things get really awkward if he is asked to bring in Evil Dead star, Ash.

Side note: the reason why they had to specify no disintegrations was that in a world where cybernetics, the force, and bacta tanks could ensure pretty much any injury was healed or mitigated, disruptors(weapons that disintegrated targets hit) were a popular choice among mercenaries.

Additionally, Boba Fett is only a badass because he faces down Vader. “What if he doesn’t survive? He’s worth a lot to me.” And Vader actually tells him the Empire will compensate him.

Everything else Fett does is mostly ‘look retarded and die stupidly’.
