I prefer the fight scene from Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins, but it’d be hard to get all that scaffolding back up and in place for that.

Ooooookay. Not getting the reference in panel 2. What movie have I missed?

And how come the statue doesn’t have antlers? Poor, handicaped statue.

I see a perfectly fine pair of antlers on the statue. Look again.

After that second panel, it took me another 5 minutes to finish the comic because I was laughing too hard!

Not to be a complainy-pants, but isn’t it ‘ooh la la’ and not “oh la la”? Good strip nevertheless.

Pronounced as such, but not written that way. The comic is correct.

I would bring a Nintendo controller and some friends, so we could pretend we are the Ghost Busters.

    Great comic, as usual!

I thought it would look to busy with the crown, but I’ll add ’em in.

The Statue of Liberty, if you’ve never been in it, has this incredibly narrow, incredibly steep double-helix circular staircase that runs in the open inside of the statue from the base up to the crown. If you’re a person of any size at all, you’re forced to swing your upper half out and around as you go up. Meanwhile, people coming down are banging on and shaking the other side of the staircase. I almost had a panic attack trying to go up, all to reach an incredible view from a room that’s not much larger than a broom closet.

tldr; the Gateway Arch has crazy-cool sideways elevators.

Alas, that stairwell has been closed off to the public since 9/11, and not just because of terrorism concerns, it’s a fire safety hazard. Imagine that tiny, claustrophobic staircase being used to escape a fire or other emergency! Chaos.

Nowadays, there’s a museum of sorts built in to the base (or possibly the lower skirt, my sense of location was a tad muddled).

They reopened it in 07-09, but closed it again for renovations.

The antennae are hidden by the crown. Bug Statue of Liberty is awesome-pants, Adam. As is the scene from the Original Planet of the Apes with Charlton Heston.

Meh, I did the Planet of the Apes thing once, people put money in my coat for the good acting job. Also, I think they closed the inside of her (should I word that differently?) for renovations.

I’ve been tempted to yell “Soylent Green is people!” on a jam-packed subway but haven’t had the nerve. Figure I’d get a couple of laughs and a fair amount of personal space from nervous non-laughers.

Or you could have climbed up to the torch section and reenacted the ending of “Saboteur”.
    Course… then you’d be dead.
