How are you able to achieve a look of complete & utter “doofus-ness” just by drawing a pair of shorts on your character? It’s amazing.
And I think most of us would prefer to be skewered and dangled rather than be called to be on a jury…unless it’s one o’ them famous celebrity murder trials where they put you up in a nice hotel with free food and cable and later you get played by Channing Tatum in the made-for-tv-movie version of it.
Then again, I’d probably be played by Danny DeVito.

Easy. I draw me wearing cargo shorts and the doofus-ness just naturally comes comes out.

Ha… I’m wearing cargo shorts at work today (extremely casual summer dress code) and I looked at myself in the mirror this morning and thought: “I look like a poster boy for something bad.” I guess it is the
“Don’t dress up like mugger bait!”

Probably my favorite part is that in Panel 4, the author-bug is still wearing the cargo shorts, as though he had some good reason for picking them in the morning and has therefore placed the burden of proof on having a reason to not wear them, and go to the trouble of changing pants.

This sounded funnier in my head.

“This sounded funnier in my head.”

That’s how I usually feel after writing a strip.

If your strips were funnier in your head, you’d be laughing too hard to ever draw them.

Well, if you’re the guy who got the criminal sent to court you’d be exempt from jury duty because of a conflict of interest.

If I could get out of jury duty by participating in a police sting, I’d consider it too.
I’d love to serve again, if it weren’t so stressful.
