Wow. He almost makes me want to mess up the office just be able to appreciate his penmanship on a more regular basis.

Also the fact that most of them took the vow of silence means that after you finished dictating your letter and you ask them to re read it for you it will turn into an awkward silence.

So… I’m in a middle ages recreation society, and it’s kind of a running joke – scribes have awful everyday handwriting. Personally, I’ve been doing calligraphy for more than 20 years, but I have a hard time writing my initials in a legible manner at work, and my signature has devolved into a scribble.

Sorry for this: 2nd panel, I think it’s “PenmAnship”. Almost ironic. but not really.

What the hell?! I looked up that word and saw that it was indeed penmanship and I thought I made the correction before I inked it. Weirdness.

Don’t you know? You have been in the weirdness zone for a very very … very ……. yes very …… very long time.

Also beware of chickens, I hear tell they can be quite savage … or was that Panda Bears if your name sounds like Brent?

Today’s comic is another great example of taking a fairly well-known fact (like monks having good calligraphy skills) and mixing it (often anachronistically) into very different situations.

I’ll admit, I’ve never thought about hiring a monk as my personal secretary, but with Adam Huber’s humorous bent, he sure makes it entertaining to think about!

    Thanks for the laughs, Adam!

Honestly, my version of the phrase is “throwing a monkey at the wrench”. I don’t know why, but everyone seems to know what it means.

I’ve always loved those capital letter drawings old books have.
