What really sucks is seeing a cop right after jaywalking.

A cop actually stopped me shortly after I’d done that, but it turned out he was just looking for someone wearing a similar shirt.

I feel the same way. I try to smile politely but then I look like I’m trying to hide something, like I just robbed a bank or assaulted someone.

They robbed the gas station next to a police sub-station here a couple of nights ago. Dog lost the scent and no arrests that I’ve heard. The perp probably walked right by the police station on his way to the robbery.

They robbed the bank a few blocks away from our police station recently… again.

Why is there a cop in the middle of a grassy area with a tree? Are you in a public park or something?

I randomly visited your comic from Twitter and this was the first strip I saw and it clicked with me. I always feel that way and it isn’t limited to police but any authority figure. Stiff unnatural walking… also applies to starting to drive all awkwardly if I see a cop car. Glad I’m not the only one and you just accidentally started a support group. =)

I guess it takes on to know one.

My former neighbor was a sheriff convicted of rape under the color of authority.

It’s scary that he’ll get out in about 10 years [minus good behavior].

Maybe if Bug doesn’t want to be taken for a possible pervert, he shouldn’t lead with his genitals.

I love: How he’s “hiding” behind a bush, the way he’s walking by the cop, and especially how the cop starts following him, but they’re both walking.

Luckily I’ve never had any problems with the police besides them not showing up.

Love the cop’s expression and how he just nonchalantly speaks into the radio.

I’ve heard that acting like a dweeb when interacting with police is a good thing. Most straight forward non-criminal citizens show that behavior. It sets them at ease because they know they’re not dealing with a hardened criminal plus they can feel in control and superior. It’s the citizen who’s calm and unworried that makes a policeman nervous because they aren’t acting like a “normal” person.

So if you’re interacting with the police chatter in the most annoying way possible. While it pisses me off it supposedly calms them down.
