Good to know that it’s not just women that get guilt tripped and shamed about not wanting kids/more kids.

Given that you can’t undo it if you change your mind, they want to make sure they’re not liable if you do.

The Navy vasexctomy is specifically designed not to be reversible, so while yhere is no waiting period or guilt, they do make you AND your wife sign four times saying you understand this. My wife was unavailable during the counseling. I told Doc, ‘She’s recovering from the birth of our twins. One by Cesarean.’ He blinked and then initialed for her sig.

The methods I am familiar with are reversible, fairly easily. It’s just plumbing—a vasectomy severs the vas and does something to block the ends (mine were tied), and reversal merely requires rejoining the tubes. Granted, these tubes are supposed to be inside a sensitive bit of anatomy, but I haven’t seen a method that is irreversible in principle. Some have less success than others, though.

The biggest issue for me was timing. I got one night to recover. I would recommend significantly longer. Also, don’t drive 800 miles by yourself. Pain killers and driving are a bad combination.

Why does this comic strip say 2019? Did I finally get my time machine working?
