You hurt a cops’ feelings and he’ll find something to cite you for just out of spite. Or, a judge will give you more time in lockup if you insult his mother, just to save face.
Mocking the judges mother while in court is not just stupid, it is actually against the law. So the lockup time (or the fine) is well earned. Why would you even insult the judges mother? o.O

It’s how the cops react in the *movies*. Given Hollywood’s track record in realistic portrayals I doubt they react like that in real life.
