I rode a skateboard once. Fell down a hill headed towards traffic, but some lady reached her arm out and I went flying, and hit and skidded the pavement with my face, leaving several large gashes, which surprisingly did not leave scars. Mom promptly took my to McDonalds.

And certainly better than waiting to get run over by a reindeer.

I love that you even drew the tennis balls on the feet of the zimmer frame! Now *thats* attention to artistic detail.

The tennis balls are what makes a walker look like a walker.

Judging from the first panel, senior citizens don’t necessarily WANT to go skateboarding down half-pipes. He pushed her!\
And “you’ll only be crippled ’til Tuesday”? Dude…hilariously cruel!

Yeah, I briefly hesitated on that one. “Is this too mean?” I wondered for a half-second and then drew it anyway.

Took me a second read to notice that in panel 1, Bug kicked the old woman down the ramp. Hilariously sadistic.

If I die before I wake
At least in heaven I can skate
Cause right now on earth I can’t do jack
Without the man up on my back

Reminds of the joke by the late comedian Greg Geraldo about what a waste it was for young people to do recreational drugs. Why risk screwing up 50+ years when your 19 and don’t need a lift anyway? Wait till you hit 70, that’s when you could really benefit from having your reality altered and if you get addicted, meh, so what, you’re only going to be hooked till Tuesday.

Still you never know. My grandmother hit 65 a bit over weight, certainly not looking like she would show up in one of those financial planning adds where 80 year olds look 40 and go rock climbing but she broke a hip, a femur and had breast cancer, turned 100 last May.

Yeah, Bug shoved her, but she must have been standing on the board on the edge of the pipe to start with, right?

From one of Terry Pratchett’s books about the witches of Discworld:
“I told her she shouldn’t go rock climbing at 103, but she wouldn’t listen.”
“I’ll always remember her last words.”
    “What were they?”
    “‘Oh, bugger.'”

Some say youth is wasted on the young. I, however, say that the resilience of youth is what enabled me to survive the foolishness of my youth.
