Oddly, the more noticeable effect of running is that when you get used to running regularly, you become quite cranky if you are prevented from doing so. Or mopey. The true runner’s high is not experienced by most people, because it generally requires very long distance runs and pushing yourself really hard.

It’s a high the way taking a good dump is a high. Satisfying, but not AMAZING.

Those people that do marathons regularly…they really are junkies. They need the next hit no matter the cost. If you’ve ever looked up the cost of running in an organized marathon you will learn that the organizers have also realized that they’re selling an addictive product.

That was a pretty long comment I made yesterday, wasn’t it? I’m not sure what was wrong with me. It’d probably be best for you to disregard everything I said.

The funny thing is, I was actually going to accuse Pink Floyd, but I wasn’t sure if he was still around.

Yup. Still around. Read Bug every morning before work. Just been going through some health stuff lately, and hadn’t caught up. I was in the hospital for a bit. Kidney stones. Yay.

Plus I don’t ALWAYS comment on EVERY comic strip. Do I? Well, okay almost every one, but not quite.

I’ll tell you what I wonder about…is Matthew the Matthew Inman of The Oatmeal comic?

Try hashing. Not only will you get lost on the way to the finish, you’ll have a few beers along the way. gotothehash.net

I’ve finally managed to exercise to the point that I’ve gotten an endorphin high.

I COULD be going to the gym right now. It’s on my to-do list for today, and I’ve got the time.

Notice that I’m reading and commenting on a webcomic instead. Yes. The “reading and commenting on a webcomic” high is better than the runners’ high. THAT’S how lameass it is.

Reminds me of this from the archive: https://www.bugmartini.com/comic/runners-high/

Both great comics ^^ a runners high can be pretty addictive.
There were a few weeks in my life when I would pop back some running-pills and chill on the court, around an hour give or take each day. Enjoying the lame ass buzz.
My doctor, who previously described me this miracle cure as an ultimate healing method, made me stop. Because my heart demanded a second opinion and behaved funny. Turned our my heart was fine, but at that point, after going could turkey… Meh.

Moral of that story? None whatsoever. Just made those two comics even funnier to me (and Bug Martini is already the only comic that can make me laugh at a regular basis, instead of just a chuckle or smile).
