Well, it was only in times of famine, and they haven’t done it since the 30s, but this is hilariously harsh.

I know it’s just Nana’s snazzy glasses… but she looks pissed as all hell to me and it cracks me up because my great-grandma was a hard ass German bitch who cussed and drank beer morning, noon, and night (this was in the 80s and my Da said she was like that since the 40s at least).

In short, this comic makes me miss my great-grandma.

Eskimos making old people float off ice chunks? Now that’s really… *puts on sun-glasses* cold-hearted

Ah, the Eskimo equivalent of hospice care. Or, perhaps it’s the equivalent of grandma going to Florida for the winter. As the ice flow drifts south she’s joined by other “retirees” floating south. They gum their blubber and complain they never hear from their children.

Grandma Bug DOES look pissed with those cat glasses. However, if you think of her as an alien, the glasses take on a whole new meaning.
This strip just has all kinds of Awesome in it!

I just had some bad news but now I’m picturing a walrus that looks like Bea Arthur. Thanks, Adam, for making my day a little better. (You always do, but today I needed it more than usual.)

    Hey look dad!! Nana’s back!!
    Oh Heyyyy… awkward.

or Granny passes a polar bear on a float and says “you too huh”
that wasn’t meant to be like a PSA about global warming or anything although bug PSA’s would be a great theme

Actually, Adam did do a PSA already

And another that says it’s as close as he’ll get to one:

And of course, the strip about locked-in-the-fridge PSAs:

Euthanasia of the elderly, infants and the crippled is a practice of all known hunter-gatherer cultures. They don’t have the margin to take care of people who can’t contribute materially. In some circumstance, just a sprained ankle can cause the rest of the group to leave you behind.

Neither is it to far gone even in the industrial world. The major impetus for birth certificates was to make the law aware a child existed to prevent them from being killed by parents who could not afford them. In the late 1800s, many jurisdictions outlawed having infants sleep with adults in order to remove the, “whoops, we rolled over on baby in the night and smothered it,” line of defense.

Another one of those, j”ust be glad you live in the 21st century” moments. If you’re having a bad day just think, “well at least I don’t have to decide which loved one to kill so the rest can survive.” I find it puts that jammed copier in a better perspective.

I dunno. I can think of a list of family members is help shuffle off this mortal coil if it would drop the price of a Kit Kat by 25 cents.
