I’m surprised Carly Simon’s “Anticipation” wasn’t playing in the second panel

I’ve put a silencer and night vision scope on mine so I can have a snack at night.

Ain’t that the truth? I bought a bottle of ketchup that had a warning label on it. “Warning: May put holes in tables if used improperly, product has been used in place of laser in Bond movies.” I figure I’m just gonna wait to replace the table until the ketchup runs out, that way I only do it once.

There is one for everything, I think. Human sexuality is weird sometimes.

I like to see how far away from the counter I can stand and still accurately put ketchup on my burger

Awww dang gone it… I was going to do a very similar strip about this very same subject as well. :-/

Mostly it was due to the fact that now ALL the ketchup in the “spray nozzle” only comes out at one spot when you’re trying to evenly distribute it along your hot dog or hamburger. No matter how “careful” you try to be…

    Good strip though!

You can still do it. I didn’t corner the market on ketchup-related strips.

I kinda like the whole slow ketchup thing. Ketchup out of the fast bottle seems runny to me.

Interesting fun fact: ketchup is a non-neutonian fluid.

The more pressure you add to it, the more watery it becomes, which goes against common logic with fluids. It’s also why you can hold a bottle upside down and it barely moves at all… then once it starts to move, it starts to accelerate rapidly and a ton more comes out than you meant to pour out.

The same principle applies with the squeezy bottles as seen in the comic: squeeze the bottle and poof, it practically turns to water. Once it’s on the food though, it’s back to being almost a solid again with how thick it is.

Clearly what we need is a two-stage ketchup bottle where you squeeze on one side, it pours liquidy ketchup through a funnel, then there’s a lower pressure second stage due to a valve that releases some of the pressure, but not all of it, between the first and second stages.

Now the real question is, why am I overthinking how to make the perfect ketchup bottle? THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW! Because I certainly don’t.

I quoted this strip at a family gathering recently and got laughs from the whole table. Thanks, Adam, for giving me the opportunity.
